Managing the Off Switch in a Media Saturated Culture

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

If you don't own the off switch, the device owns you.  This session will focus on how apps and devices are purposely created to make them hard to turn off.  We will explore common vulnerabilities that are exploited as well as the ways behavior is changed through persuasive technology.  The good news is that as we better understand the challenges, we can take steps to reduce our vulnerability and to keep tech use productive and fun.  This session will explore Romans 12:2, 1 John 4:18 and help us understand that there is a pattern we can live that won't result in isolation, broken relationships and regret.
